Fusion is a generic term, that Oracle is using to define the new packages of middleware, architecture and also uses the ERP. Mainly after the acquisitions Oracle has done, this momentum as necessary, to incorporate the best of each side. For example, PeopleSoft has the product excellence of human resource management, electronic commerce, Oracle (Oracle applications) is very good at financier0es (financier0es Oracle) and a still pending approval, Siebel is one of the best (if not the best solution) CRM (management of customer relationship).
The middleware and architecture are ready to use, and the uses of fusion (fusion of the project? Oracle s) are planned for delivery in 2008.
In my opinion, Oracle is planning to have an excellent system for products, tools and middleware. The idea about the merger is HUGE. Business applications and involves a huge amount of technology that makes a real difference to Oracle customers. If there is the supposed effect of the merger, Oracle will have a real competitive advantage over others. Of course there is a long way ahead and the market will react, but the first steps are very important deals and the report exactly that time.
The fusion strategy is based on some technical principles, including:
Using? Web services (service oriented architecture? SOA);
Industrial standards? As J2EE;
Business process? to model how software? s of the company works (BPEL standard);
BI tools? integrated into relevant business transactions;
Grid? which computes to a cheaper security and increase and;
Easy Management? to lower TCO.
It will be great to see such software enormous, fusion applications using these technologies. The companies benefit easy modularity within your business process, that is an old promise, because the technology is around the object. J2EE is a standard established, so the customizations of the applications will be easier and away from proprietary languages. The use of SOA, applied all around the products, will allow easy integration of the more expensive editions today.
